This is a photo taken by Nava Thompson in Tulsa, Oklahoma of a young Bald Eagle.DescriptionThe plumage of an adult Bald Eagle is evenly brown with a white head and tail. The tail is moderately long and slightly wedge-shaped. Males and females are identical in plumage coloration, but sexual dimorphism is evident in the species in that females are 25 percent larger than males.[2] The beak, feet and irides are bright yellow. The legs are feather-free, and the toes are short and powerful with large talons. The highly developed talon of the hind toe is used to pierce the vital areas of prey while it is held immobile by the front toes.[3] The beak is large and hooked, with a yellow cere.

My story-- There's so much color, variety and fun in exploring nature and wildlife. The 'magic' of those moments have been captured and presented here for you to share and enjoy. I am more aware of God's paintbrush as I work with close up shots of birds in action and butterflies on flowers in the morning sun. Deer and Elk are outstandingly photogenic! They appear to have been outlined with a magic marker. Amazing -- isn't it? My dream is to continue to explore---chasing the rainbows and sunsets while searching for something new and exciting. Enjoy my gallery, Thank you!

Golden eagle, I just presume, but not sure. It is an awesome capture and presentation, as the limbs and foliage are great, but the eagle in its adolescent years, is so highly accentuated with the great blue sky background! Awesome shot, my friend! Got my fave and vote and FB and g+1 and tweet on this great capture and display!

Randy--this is the Bald Eagle--I didn't realize that their heads do not turn white until they are about four years old -- or more. This was a rare situation for me to get this close. I editied the info if you want to read about them. I appreciate your forever support, fave, vote,Fb,and g 1 and tweet. :)
