A Pileated Woodpecker is a rare and exciting site. He has a loud call--or he can be totally silent. He has a jungle like call. He is a clown--and this is the bird that the cartoon character--'Woody Woodpecker' was fashioned after.
This is the Pileated Woodpecker that I rarely get to see. He is an exciting, loud bird--or he may fly in totally silent.
