Artist's Description
A photo taken by Nava Jo Thompson of an Apricot Cone flower on a NW Arkansas Trail..................Echinacea species are herbaceous, drought-tolerant perennial plants growing up to (140 cm or possibly 4 feet, reference needed) in height. They grow from taproots, except E. purpurea, which grows from a short caudex with fibrous roots. They have erect stems that in most species are unbranched. Both the basal and cauline leaves are arranged alternately. The leaves are normally hairy with a rough texture, having uniseriate trichomes (1-4 rings of cells) but sometimes they lack hairs. About Nava Thompson
My story-- There's so much color, variety and fun in exploring nature and wildlife. The 'magic' of those moments have been captured and presented here for you to share and enjoy. I am more aware of God's paintbrush as I work with close up shots of birds in action and butterflies on flowers in the morning sun. Deer and Elk are outstandingly photogenic! They appear to have been outlined with a magic marker. Amazing -- isn't it? My dream is to continue to explore---chasing the rainbows and sunsets while searching for something new and exciting. Enjoy my gallery, Thank you!

Nava Jo, Congratulations on your WFS Homepage Feature of this delicious-looking cone flower. Watch out for a hungry-looking rabbit disguised as a rainbow. LOL
Nava Thompson replied:
Doug---thank you very much for the feature in WFS group. The little Rainbow Bunny looks fairly innocent---but then they all seem to manage that around the flowers. :)
